The morning humidity had dampened and softened the soil. Green leaves covered certain parts of the path, leading deeper inside the dense forest. Scarlet looked down at her sneakers who now had brown stains all over their white coat.
"Grar I just had them cleaned!" she breathed between clenched teeth. The fresh breeze forced to wear a jacket but felt refreshening at the same time. Her working tights, however, made her thigs shake a little and the hair on the back of her neck were up.
As crazy as it might sound she enjoyed this lightly chilly atmosphere; it was the perfect environment for her daily jogging session. Her feet sank in the soil, however, which made it a little harder to walk let alone run, but Scarlet was really getting good at thinking positively and tried to keep only the good side in mind; it would be a much more productive and efficient way of excersise than the tough but lean cement of Portland's pavements. She needed a change of scenery after all, most of the time she jogged on either the coastline or her nearby parks -when days were a little more busy.
With a quick move she undid her hair tie and let her reddish waterfall spread on her back. She loved to run with her hair down. But then again, she almost instantly changed her mind and caught them back up; they were high likely to wrap around the extended branches.
Scarlet took a deep breath, inhaling the scented morning air. She loved that scent. It reminded her of her childhood, living in the woods. A sudden thought occured to her; should she stop by and pay her brother a visit? Jonathan had kept to the family tradition and was living inside the woodland with The Pack. Scarlet rejected the thought; it was better for her to stay away from wild Blutbaden even if it was her own brother. After three years of rehabilitation she was still taking baby steps in controlling her anger; living as a Wieder Blutbad is not an easy thing at all.
After a few streches, she felt all warmed up and ready to begin. Sniffing the air and taking in the sweet scent of wet soil and morning mist, Scarlet begun to jog, always staying on the path.
